It is expected that the prefix, which, as the media expects, will be presented to the public on February 20, will use the "cloud" technologies of the Gaikai game service, bought by Sony last year for $ 380 million.

Apparently, the competition was affected by the competition from the relatively inexpensive WII U. PlayStation 3 at the time of launch cost 50 thousand yen for the most basic model and 72 thousand yen for the version with 60 GB of memory. In the USA, the prefix cost 500 and 600 dollars, respectively. Now the cheapest PlayStation 3 configuration costs about $ 270 in the United States, in Russia - from 10 thousand rubles.

According to The Verge, in 2013 PlayStation 4 can only be released in Japan and the USA - somewhere closer to the fall, and the European release will allegedly happen only in 2014. Referring to the Japanese edition of the Asahi Shimbun, the publication claims that the PS4 joystick will receive a touch panel borrowed from the portable PS Vita, but in general it will be the same as the current Dual Shock 3.
