AVG: harmful programs written by children are increasingly found

Experts of the AVG antivirus company, studying the programs created for the theft of virtual currency, faced the malicious code, the author of which was the child, reports Securitylab .

As explained by the technical director of AVG Javow Ben -itskhak, exploring the source code of the program, the experts faced interesting information. So, the malicious program stole the data of the players and sent them to a specific email address.

The developer of the program included his email address, password and other information in it, which would never do an ordinary hacker. Experts found that the email address belongs to a 11-year-old child from Canada. Thanks to this information, the researchers determined the city in which the boy lives.

The code written by children has a number of general characteristics, researchers report. Most malicious codes are written using Visual Basic and C#, in addition, they contain elementary errors that a professional hacker would hardly make.

Experts have studied one specific copy of such a code, disguised as a reader program for Runescape game gamers, which has been signed by over 200 million Online players. The Runescape Gold Hack program promised the players supposedly a free virtual currency for the game, but in fact, with its help, the attacker stole these unsuspecting users.

Now in schools in the world, children are increasingly taught programming, and not the simple use of computers. In the UK, extracurricular clubs opened with the support of companies such as Google and Microsoft. In this regard, Javal Ben -itzhak insists on explaining to children how to use the knowledge gained.
