60 years ago, on February 9, 1953, a bomb was thrown into the territory of the USSR Embassy in Tel Aviv, as a result of which three employees were injured. The building caused significant damage: all glass, window frames and doors were knocked out on the first, second and partly third floors. This attack became the reason for the breakdown of diplomatic relations with Israel in three days. Later, involvement in the explosion of the underground extremist organization "Malhut Israel" ("Kingdom of Israel") was established. One of the members of the organization, Josef Manes, sentenced to a life imprisonment for the murder of one of the leaders of Hungarian Jews, suspected of cooperation with Eichmann, in 1961 admitted that he participated in the implementation of the explosion of the Soviet diplomatic mission. He argued that the bomb was laid at such a distance from the building to avoid victims, and that the attack was caused by the anti -Jewish actions of the Soviet authorities.
