I just returned from a business trip to one of the villages (loudly called a settlement) in my region. Showed the missionary program. For children. About the dangers of beer alcoholism. He talked about the soul, about God... He returned.
What did you see? An old building, built in the 30s, before the occupation. Shabby. There is no sewerage. The toilet is just a few holes in the floor where children pee and poop. No toilets, of course. The stench is the wildest. It’s unclear how children get here.
Once upon a time there were several hundred children studying at the school. She was the best in the area. Now everyone who can is leaving. There is no work. There are no prospects. Grown men and women are trying to work on a rotational basis in neighboring Moscow. They work hard. But the money is good by village standards.
There are no teachers. The two “youngest teachers,” respectively, are about 40 and 55. Subject teachers come from other localities. Nobody wants to work at a school - the salaries are low, there is no housing and there won’t be any.
Everyone hates the Unified State Exam. They understand that with the Unified State Examination, village children have no chance at all to enter a city university. The system is still in effect. If you do not pass the Unified State Exam, you can retake it as usual. This is the only way to really finish school.
There is only one doctor left at the local clinic. All trades. There are no specialists. Nobody wants to work. The ambulance service does not work at night. Recently there was a case where a resident became ill at night - he did not live until morning and died.
Teachers welcome any gift. “They gave us computers and some other equipment.” Everyone understands everything perfectly. They say: “Why do I show us every day about Oboronservis? We already know that they steal everywhere.”
But they immediately fall silent. They are afraid. Putin. Stalin. The governor... Everything and everyone. Exhausted, intimidated, kind rural teachers. And the terrible stench from the school toilet...
