In St. Petersburg, Murat Sarbashev was arrested, detained during the Friday raid of the security forces into the Mosque of the market Apraksin Dvor. According to Fontanka.ru, citing the city department of the TFR, a 24-year-old native of Kabardino-Balkaria, who lived in the city without registration, was charged with the distribution of extremist materials. According to investigators, in October 2010 - April 2011, he published on the Internet texts of extremist content and video recording of terrorist attacks. Other defendants in the case have not yet been reported.

Meanwhile, Gazeta.ru reports that on Sunday and Monday from Russia, five detained citizens of Tajikistan were sent to his homeland, two - Uzbekistan and two - Azerbaijan. All of them were illegally in Russia.

Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Muslims of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region Shamil Mugattarov said that his structure would complain about the actions of the security forces. “We are not against caught terrorists and extremists. Catch, we will even help. But to humiliate Muslims because of one person is wrong,” the public leader said.

On Friday, according to Fontanka.ru, at least 700 people were detained in the Apraksin Mosque. Around 14:30, right during the prayer, 20 employees of the Grad FSB group and 40 employees of the Granit and OMON BASTIONs broke there. In addition, about 40 EP operatives, migration service officials and investigators of the Investigative Committee, participated in the raid.

According to the security forces, the raid was carried out as part of the investigation of criminal cases under articles 205.2 (public calls for terrorist activity or public justification of terrorism) and 282 of the Criminal Code (exciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity). The FSB was interested in both Russian citizens and foreigners. At the same time, the security forces admitted that not all those present in the mosque are related to the charged crimes.

The detainees were taken to the Investigative Department, as well as to the Center "E". In addition to Sarbashev, the security forces were interested in the imam of the mosque, the head of the Tajik diaspora in St. Petersburg Abdurahman Akilov.

The special services called their task the identification of possible leaders of radical movements. According to law enforcement officers, Islamic leaders who come to the city received education at the University of Cairo, which is considered one of the ideological centers of radical Islam.
