The other day I HAD to visit the cinema. Modern. Fashionable. Simply because I really wanted to meet a wonderful director of still “Soviet” cinema, whose films (and he is in active creative work) are becoming “more and more modern.” Although recent works refer to the so-called. "Khrushchev's thaw", or the terrible post-war 1946
Met. We had a good chat. I only stayed to watch the presentation session. The fact is that the cinema did not rent this film. "Heavy", "for life". 2 hours. There were a lot of people in the hall. I sat down next to the main character of the film, who, by the way, saw the entire film for the first time.
The lights went out and then this happened! Continuous two-hour walking of people. From the hall and into the hall. With a slamming door. People laden with large glasses of popcorn, making their way along their feet. The smell of this very popcorn makes you feel like a “horse in a stable”, which is constantly being fed “oats” into the feeder.
Constant mobile and “silent” calls throughout the entire room, negotiations between their owners and numerous relatives and friends.
I don’t know how the main character watched his work to the end; I personally decided that I would watch the film separately, at home, in silence, on the computer, with headphones.
When can you press stop? Comprehend what you see. Even “rewind” and watch some scene again.
And I also understood why I don’t go to modern cinemas. That's why I don't go to discos. "Old" has become. And cinemas have turned into entertainment centers for teenagers to have fun, where they show attraction films mixed with popcorn. It doesn't matter where you watch the movie from. You don’t have to watch it, just eat popcorn. Or chat on your cell phone.
For mercy, what a Tarkovsky, what a Sokurov. Here you can watch only those films that “tickle under the arms or in the groin.” There are, of course, options - small cinema clubs. But the best option is still the same - a home computer. And leisurely viewing in silence.
