A resident of the Yaroslavl region accidentally wounded a policeman with a hunting rifle

A police patrol officer from the city of Uglich was taken to the hospital on Sunday evening with a shotgun wound to the neck, the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Yaroslavl region reported on Monday.

It has been previously established that the policeman was injured by a local resident.

“He tried to fire shots as a salute from a hunting rifle,” the report said.

As a result of careless handling of the weapon, one of the shots hit a police officer.

This fact is being investigated.
