Yuri Budanov, 2002 The Moscow City Court dismissed the jury collegium in the case of the murder of the former Colonel Yuri Budanov. The official reason is the disposal of several spare and one main jury. Now the process will begin again with the stage of selection of the jury on March 18. For participants in the trial by the accused, the reasons for the departure of several people from the jury at once are not obvious. The press service of the Moscow City Court calls these reasons "disrespectful." Murad Musaev, the lawyer of the accused Yusup Temerkhanov, suggests that pressure was exerted on the jury. Yuri Budanov, a former commander of the 160th Guards Tank Regiment, who took part in a counter -terrorism operation in Chechnya, was convicted of killing a local resident in 2000. In the summer of 2011, Budanov was shot dead in Moscow. The murder was accused of Chechen Yusup Temerkhanov "by the motive of hatred and enmity to the social group of military personnel, participants in operations in Chechnya." The process in the case of the murder of Budanov was difficult to this day: information appeared about the bribery of the defense witness, about threats to this witness.
