Today, February 15, at 6.50 in Yekaterinburg on Vysotskogo Street at the intersection with the Yekaterinburg Ring Road (EKAD), a MAN truck tractor carrying an excavator rammed a bridge. “When driving under it, he did not calculate the dimensions of the excavator he was transporting. As a result, the excavator’s boom damaged the bridge,” the press service of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate for the Sverdlovsk region told Znak.com.

There were no casualties in the accident, and there was no bridge collapse. However, according to the conclusion of specialists from the State Institution of the Sverdlovsk Region “Administration of Highways” who visited the site, cracks appeared along the beams of the structure, so the structure requires a more detailed examination.

The truck driver, who was transporting oversized cargo, is currently detained by traffic police. The traffic police believe that his guilt is obvious - the driver did not have permission to transport oversized cargo. In addition, an audit will be carried out against the carrier company responsible for this flight. All those responsible will be brought to administrative responsibility - they will have to pay for the examination and repair of the bridge.
