In Armenia, the presidential election started

In Armenia, at 8:00 Moscow time, presidential elections started, during which voters will be able to cast their vote for one of the seven candidates, RIA Novosti reports. Voting will last until 20:00.

The current head of the republic and the chairman of the ruling Republican Party Serge Sargsyan, ex-prime minister of the country, the leader of the Freedom party Grant Bagratyan, the ex-head of the Foreign Ministry, the leader of the Heritage Party Raffi Ovannisyan, the ex-head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh, political scientist Andrias Gukasyan and a specialist in epos, claim to the post of head of the country. Vardan Sedrakyan, as well as the Shda of the National Self -Definition party, Paruir Airikan, who was attempted on the eve of the elections. On February 11, he was discharged from the hospital, and the suspects in the attempt were detained. Gukasyan announced a hunger strike so that Sergey Sargsyan’s candidacy was removed from the election.

1988 plots operate on the territory of the country. According to the law, you can vote only within Armenia, but diplomats and members of their families have the right to vote via the Internet. The CEC of Armenia counted 243 people who use Internet voting. In total, 2.5 million voters can take part in the elections. The CEC awaits a turnout of 60-70%, while there is no threshold in Armenia.
