Big arrests in a small town
I am used to seeing the cowardice of the authorities in Russia, who are afraid of any manifestation of discontent in society. I’m used to seeing serving police officers, some of whom, being seemingly grown men, slavishly dance to the tune of their superiors, carrying out the latter’s illegal orders, while the other part can pass certification and receive a rank only in the Russian Federation. I have seen illegal detentions, including experiencing this phenomenon myself.
All this is familiar and is perceived by us - the oppositionists - as a certain reality that needs to be fought. It is there. But it doesn't surprise us. However, what happened on Saturday, February 16, in the city of Dzerzhinsk does not fit into any framework at all.
During a meeting regarding the upcoming closure of school No. 15 and the subsequent single pickets on the central square of Dzerzhinsk, which was attended by members of the Left Front, “Other Russia” and civil activists, the police fussed in vain, trying to find fault with at least something. When the single pickets were wound up and the participants were about to disperse, we were asked to proceed to Police Station No. 2 without any justification for this request. After an argument that lasted about 10 minutes, the police finally found something to get to the bottom of. Before "extremist literature"! The result is 15 detainees.
By the way, the Other Russia leaflet, which criticized the collapse of education in Russia, contained a quote from Hitler that in order to conquer the people, they should be deprived of their schools. At the same time, a parallel was drawn between the actions of modern authorities in Russia and the plans of the German Nazis regarding the conquered peoples.
However, the police, who at first simply did not know what to get to the bottom of, ended up clinging to Hitler’s quote, taken out of context.

In this regard, I propose to organize mass picketing in the center of Dzerzhinsk in the near future. Whether these will be pickets in defense of the school or against police brutality remains to be decided. But it is simply necessary to train these guys in uniform and their owners.
