Moscow authorities did not allow the March for the rights of Muscovites

The Moscow City Hall rejected the application to hold a March for the rights of Muscovites, the organizers of the event reported on Twitter.

“They called from the mayor’s office regarding the Social March on March 2. They are proposing to change the route. From Pushkinskaya Square on one side of the boulevard to Sakharov Avenue,” wrote assistants to the leader of the Left Front Sergei Udaltsov. Now the organizers want to propose changing the location of the rally - from Tverskaya Square near the city hall to Pushkinskaya. The route of the march is assumed to be the same.

An application to hold a March for the rights of Muscovites, also called the Social March, was submitted to the city mayor's office on Friday, February 15. The application lists five thousand participants. The organizing committee included the following organizations: the Moscow City Council, the Moscow Civil Forum (white ribbon workers) and the Coordination Council of Left Forces, which includes the vast majority of organizations and groups of the left, for example the Left Front, “The Other Russia”, Communists of Russia and others.
