A Penza resident was detained for “renting” alcohol through the Internet at night.
Penza police detained a local resident who, in circumvention of the law, organized the night sale of alcohol via the Internet, the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Tuesday.
Reports of the sale of alcoholic beverages via the Internet at night were received by Department “K” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Penza region. The advertisement contained contact numbers through which one could order alcohol for delivery. At the same time, the service could be used from 23:00 to 08:00, when the ban on the sale of alcohol established by federal law is in effect.
The operatives carried out a test purchase: around midnight they called the phone number listed on the website, asked to bring two bottles of vodka and gave the address. At the appointed time, a young man arrived at the indicated place with a package containing alcohol. After receiving the money, the courier was detained and taken to the police department for further investigation.
During a conversation with police officers, the young man said that he was selling alcohol individually, as an individual, without any permits. At the same time, the detainee claimed that he did not sell vodka, but “rented it out.”
In relation to the suspect, protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up under Article 14.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation ("Illegal Entrepreneurship") and Article 14.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation ("Illegal sale of goods, the free sale of which is prohibited or limited").
