Landfill, training ground and cemetery

The administration of St. Petersburg finally refused to agree on a rally on February 24 against the Law on Gay Propagand, which planned to conduct the Democratic Petersburg coalition. All 20 places proposed to choose from the administration were rejected.

Now a small lesson in St. Petersburg geography. Inappropriate for the rally, the city administration considered:

- stable area;

- Sakharov Square (this is a secluded Piglet on Vasilievsky Island, where the facades of the building of the Twelve Collages, the libraries of the Academy of Sciences and the Small Gostiny Dvor, where the historical and philosophical faculties of St. Petersburg State University are located);

- the area of art (in front of the Russian Museum, where the monument to Pushkin stands);

- Square in front of the Finland Station (where Lenin is on an armored car with a hand extended to the Great House);

- Square at the Baltic House Theater (this is on the Petrograd side);

- Senate Square (where the copper horseman);

- Pionerskaya Square (Square in front of the Youth Theater with a monument to Griboedov - a traditional venue for opposition actions in the last ten years);

- Vladimir Square (perhaps a really unsuccessful place for a rally due to transport, although a rally of parliamentary opposition took place there a little over a year ago);

- the square in front of the Sports Compult "Yubileiny" (again Petrograd);

- The Tauride Garden (apparently, the administration was frightened by the washcloths from Korney Chukovsky: "I am to the Tauride Garden, / I jumped over the fence, / and she rushes behind me / and bites like a she -wolf");

- Palace Square;

- Isaakievskaya Square (holding a rally here "can help divert the attention of drivers and pedestrians from the established procedure for compliance with the rules of the road and lead to possible traffic accidents");

- the area of the proletarian dictatorship (in front of the Smolny Cathedral);

- Arrow of Vasilievsky Island (the traditional place of wedding filming - apparently not to interfere with the propaganda of heterosexuality);

- Alexander Garden (before the Admiralty);

- Marse field (recently appointed "Hyde Park");

- Petrovsky Park (on the island where the Petrovsky stadium);

- Rumyantsevsky garden (on Vasilievsky), Nekrasovsky garden, Matveevsky garden (on Petrogradka).

You can still rally in the village of Novoselki, which you need to get from the city for two hours. There is a landfill, a training ground and a cemetery in the village. In 2011, the administration was already trying to send the organizers of the gay pride there, and in December 2012-LGBT organization "Exit".

The Coalition "Democratic Petersburg" is preparing a lawsuit to violate the right to freedom of assembly guaranteed by the Constitution and the international obligations of Russia.

Yesterday, the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg approved the law on rallies in the third reading . When he enters into force, holding shares in the city will become absolutely impossible.
