An initiative group of Moscow State University spontaneously appeared as a reaction to problems that arose at the university. In October 2009, the administration tightened the passage to the hostel. There were 25 active participants then, they collected signatures in thousands, went to the rector hundred - demanded that the old rules be returned when it was possible to bring guests to the hostel after 11 pm. Over the three years of the initiative group, it was possible to force the university administration monthly meetings with those living in the hostel, to knock out the right to vote in the elections for visiting students and graduate students (before that they were not included in the lists in the areas in advance), and control the cleanliness of the elections in the territory of Moscow State University. Almost all “initiative” then went to observers, they also opposed the abolition of a rectorial allowance to a scholarship. Since July last year, an educational column has appeared on the opposition’s procession, the formation of which also took part in the IG MSU.

At first glance, it is not clear why there is an initiative group - at Moscow State University and without it a full of student structures. For example, a student council. True, the elections there are opaque, and at some faculties, only the dean and the training part are at some faculties. There is a student department in the trade union. Against the entry of the student council to the Pro -Putin coalition, the IS participants wanted to hold a rally in November 2011, but they were not agreed on the event. They were going to go to the Eternal Flame on the territory of Moscow State University, but they were roughly detained right on the steps of the main building. Then, according to the members of the group, the employees of the ED center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs followed them in scarves with the symbols of Moscow State University. “We are not allowed to gather openly, we have to be in some underground position,” the students participating in the activities of IG told me.

This semester Mikhail was appointed a business trip to Astana for a month, to the local branch of the university. And in April they were already asked to take the replacement of the pair of colleagues, who will also fly to teach at the branches.

In the personnel department, Mikhail, who wanted to solve problems with the contract before leaving, said that they would not extend the contract with him.

For Lobanov, his supervisor Yuri Valerievich Tarannikov stood up: he proposed to hold a meeting of the department. Then he was removed from the post of scientist secretary of the department. Then the head of the department of the theory of functions and functional analysis, Boris Sergeyevich Kashin, the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the deputy, intervened: suggested transferring Lobanov to his department. Not allowed.
