A competition has been announced for the anti-emblem of the "thieves' Olympics in Sochi"

While the Constitutional Court is considering whether to join the popular movement to boycott the “thieves’ Olympics in Sochi,” the Expert Council of the Opposition is preparing a corresponding Expert Opinion in support of the people’s movement, these people themselves on the Facebook resource “Boycott the Olympics in Sochi” (the resource’s slogan is “Boycott the Thieves’ Olympics”) Olympics in a country of political repression!”).

Meanwhile, moderators of the civil resource announced a popular competition for the anti-emblem of the 2014 Olympics. And the first sketches have already arrived for public viewing. They can be viewed by following the link above.

Here are the main suggestions.

1 . "Banditto-gangsteritto ruso." A skinny character in sweatpants, a sports cap and a thief’s mask is depicted, carrying on his shoulders a huge bag filled, as you might guess, with “money stolen during the construction of the Sochi facilities.” Naturally, next to it is the branded inscription Sochi.ru-2014, designed by “the right artists.”

2 “Cheburashka is a cannibal.” An athlete-skier glides serenely along the ski track. At the same time, a huge mutant Cheburashka crawls out from behind a snowdrift, raising his huge mutant paws to grab and devour the athlete. The inscription in English reads: “Welcome! Sochi-2014!

3. “Five rings – five handcuffs.” Five handcuffs are folded to represent five “Olympic rings.” This option has a significant drawback. Before us are 2 pairs of handcuffs and one ring of some kind of handcuffs, consisting of one link. This cannot but raise questions: who is this handcuff intended for? For one-armed people. Therefore, a modified version No. 4 soon appeared.

4 . "Five rings of torn handcuffs." These are five “bracelets” that once fettered human freedom, clearly torn, perhaps by the force of human muscles, or bitten by tongs. The inscription reads:

“RUSSIAN OLYMPICS? BlockSochiGames2014".

5 . "Five rings of barbed wire." This option seems to be liked by more visitors to the resource. It is easy to write and clear in symbolism. As visitors to the resource write, “The Goodwill and Peace Games cannot take place while at least one political prisoner is languishing in dungeons in Russia.” And there are many of them. Valery Suchkov, a Sochi resident and the initiator of the boycott, correctly noted: “Participating in sports entertainment in prison is a humiliation of human dignity. This is disrespect for the universal basic ethical principles proclaimed as the principle of Olympism.” Another visitor to the resource left an equally accurate remark: “In totalitarian states, the Olympics are held not for people, but for foreigners, their media and international public opinion. This was the case in Moscow-80, which was cleared of Russians. It will be so now. I’m sure on the eve of the games there will be mass arrests of dissidents IN ALL REGIONS, so as not to spoil the picture...” Like previous versions, the emblem is accompanied by the inscription in internationally understandable English: “SportRingBehindaBarbedWire!” Although here, even without explanation, EVERYTHING is CLEAR.

The competition continues. It is open to everyone.

Meanwhile, the resource has begun compiling appeals to the Russian and international public about the situation related to the “Sochi Olympics,” and on January 13, single pickets against the “Olympics during a socio-political plague” have already taken place in Moscow.
