In Nazran on Monday morning, unknown persons fired from automatic weapons at the official car of the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor department for Ingushetia, Ruslan Dakhkilgov.

“At approximately 09:05 Moscow time, on Moskovskaya Street, unknown persons fired at a car in which Ruslan Dakhkilgov and his driver were traveling. As a result of the shelling, both were wounded and were hospitalized in a local hospital,” a source in the republic’s law enforcement agencies told the Interfax agency.

A task force arrived at the scene of the incident. The circumstances of the incident are being established.

Presumably, the attack on Ruslan Dakhkilgov was carried out by members of the North Caucasus gang underground.

“At present, the identities of two people detained on suspicion of an attempt on Dakhkilgov’s life have been established,” Interfax was told at the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. These are local resident Osman Murgustov and native of Grozny Islam Makhtamarov.

“The version of their involvement in illegal armed groups is being pursued,” the press center said.

A 5.45 caliber Kalashnikov assault rifle and masks with slits for the eyes were confiscated from the detainees.
