An employee of a correctional colony in the Ryazan region shot himself at work

In the Ryazan region, the circumstances of the death of an employee of correctional colony No. 5 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia are being clarified, the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the region reported on Tuesday.

“On the afternoon of February 25, a 24-year-old correctional officer, while on duty, shot himself in the head with his service weapon. The young man died from his injuries at the scene,” the report says.

A pre-investigation check is being carried out on this fact, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made.
