Forecasters promise a sharp cold snap in Udmurtia on Thursday night, reports the Udmurt Hydrometeorological Center.
Residents of the region can observe the worsening weather already on Wednesday afternoon - it is snowing in the republic, in some places - blizzards, strong wind gusts up to 18 m/s, the report says.
“On the night of the last day of winter, minus 21-26 degrees is expected. The cooling is associated with the invasion of Arctic air masses into the territory of Udmurtia,” the press release notes.
On March 1, another cyclone will arrive in the region, bringing snow and a weak blizzard.
