Pavel Astakhov, Commissioner for Child Rights, is not resigned. “I can’t resign. I am a responsible person, I am responsible for the trust that Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev expressed me at first, and then Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is the person I work with today, I sincerely respect and support him,” he supports me, ”Astakhov said at a press conference on Thursday.
At the same time, Astakhov believes that his resignations are mainly achieved by pedophiles, since no one did so much to fight them, the correspondent of the "faces" reports.
“Those who write why Astakhov does not talk about the death of Russian children at home, I will say: my friends, you are either blind or stupid,” said the children's ombudsman.
Commenting on the situation with the investigation of the death of the three -year -old Maxim Kuzmin, adopted by the American family, Astakhov insisted on the fault of adoptive parents. The Ombudsman quoted the statements of American investigators that both spouses are under suspicion, and hematomas were discovered on the boy’s body. Earlier, the American forensic expert said that these damage may not be related to the cause of death. In addition, Astakhov quoted the words of a certain employee of the American social service, who "is sure that the boy died in the house of adoptive parents as a result of abuse of the mother’s adoptive." According to Astakhov, the child was buried in another state so that the Texas authorities could not hold an exhumation.
Astakhov again denied reports that Russian diplomats had to apologize to the American side in connection with the Kuzmin case. “No one is going to apologize for anything. Let them apologize - those who hid the death of a Russian boy, those who silence the crime,” the Ombudsman said.
Interfax reported about the apology of Russian diplomats with reference to the representative of the US State Department. "Russian diplomats called representatives of the State Department in Houston on February 18 to apologize for sensational publications in the Russian media and distance themselves from premature conclusions about the causes of death and false assertion that the State Department and local authorities did not assist the Russian side," the agency of his words cited.
On February 20, the State Department called the statements of Astakhov and representative of the Foreign Ministry of Konstantin Dolgov about the causes of the death of Maxim Kuzmin. The representative of the State Department rejected the accusations that the Russian side was closed to access to information about the investigation.
Astakhov, who previously accused the boy’s adoptive mother of “cruel beatings”, allegedly caused the death of the child, on the same day in an interview with Russia-24 TV channel nominated a new version of what happened. He stated that Laura Shatto's adopted mother left the boy unattended on the playground. According to Astakhov, "this is already a crime in Texas." Therefore, the children's ombudsman still counts on bringing an American to criminal liability.
