The ex-employee Lokhova sued the London division of Sberbank for sexism and "Filted Svetlana"

Sberbank CIB Svetlana Lokhova sued the Former Securities Trader for the Securities of the London division of Sberbank CIB due to the fact that she was supposedly discriminated against the sexual basis at work, Bloomberg reports with reference to court documents. According to the plaintiff, the colleagues in the correspondence called her "Madame Cocain player" and "crazy Svetlana."

As a result, 32-year-old Lokhova was forced to go on vacation due to the stress in January 2012, she no longer went to work. In her lawsuit, she indicated that this outcome was led by the fact that the men who worked with her in the company created a hostile atmosphere of sexism and demonstrated "a humiliating and insulting attitude towards women."

The Sberbank believes that there were no violations of the rights of the former employee Lokhova. The company will actively defend itself against the charges, said the press secretary of the London division of Bank Paul Mariott. According to Sberbank, Lokhova quit due to poor working indicators, and not because of sexual discrimination.

The lawsuit of the Lokhova said that, in particular, the head of the British branch of Sberbank for capital sales David Longmuir two days before the arrival of a new employee to London sent emails to customers, in which he reported the imminent arrival of "Madame Cocain player." He clarified that the leadership hired the "crazy Svetlana" to trade shares. Longmuir admitted that he had made "erroneous and unprofessional comments", but emphasized that his statements were explained not by Paul Lokhova, but by his personal hostility to her.

In addition, she pointed out Lokhova in the lawsuit, at some point colleagues in correspondence expressed the opinion that she needed to visit the tribal leaders in Nigeria, who would “reassure” her. By this caustic comment, it was meant that Lokhova needed sex in order to "relax."

It is assumed that the court in the case will last more than five weeks, 15 witnesses should be testified in the process. Typically, the maximum amount of compensation in case of discrimination on the sexual basis in the UK is about 70 thousand pounds (approximately 100 thousand dollars).

The London office of Sberbank CIB used to be part of the Three Dialogue, which was bought by Sberbank in January 2012.
