The ex-head of the Higher Attestation Commission was left in custody

The Moscow City Court recognized the arrest of the former chairman of the highest certification commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Felix Shamkhalov , RAPSI reports.

The court rejected the appellation of lawyers, who was asked to change the preventive measure. The defense offered a security deposit of 5 million rubles so that the court agreed to transfer Shamkhalov to house arrest, where he could continue to raise six children, two of whom are seriously ill. According to the lawyer, the father of the family is the only breadwinner.

The investigator expressed fears that Shamkhalov could be pressure on witnesses. One of the witnesses found a list of high -ranking officials and heads of Russian subjects. At the same time, some surnames are marked with ticks. In addition, unknown people threatened one of the witnesses on the phone.

Recall that Shamkhalov is accused of embezzlement of Vnesheconombank's loan of 350 million rubles, which was allocated for the construction of elite cottages. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow, Shamkhalov took part in the embezzlement of 1.5 billion rubles. Shamkhalov himself denies all the accusations and says that he got into this story by chance. The police interrogated the general director of Zarechy-2 Anton Solovarov, whose co-owner is Felix Shamkhalov.

Shamkhalov was excluded from the Higher Attestation Commission, his place was taken by the ex-minister of education, the rector of the RUDN, Vladimir Filippov.
