The Investigative Committee is interested in the adoption of a Russian girl by a Belgian couple

Employees of the guardianship committee of the administration of the Surgut region (KhMAO) are suspected of deliberately substituting the personal data of a one-year-old girl with the aim of her adoption by a married couple from Belgium, said Elena Sherman, official representative of the district department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, committee employees unreasonably changed the surname, first name and patronymic of the newborn girl, after which they presented her as a candidate for adoption by Belgian citizens.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the basis of negligence on the part of officials of the guardianship and trusteeship committee of the Surgut district administration.
