And all for the sake of canceling direct elections in Ingushetia and Chechnya

I dare to suggest that all these passions with territorial claims against each other by the leaderships of the two fraternal republics, which unexpectedly escalated in the last six months, are nothing more than a technology developed in the Kremlin to force people to cancel direct elections. And that the currently vassal heads of the Republic of Ingushetia and the Chechen Republic are involved in its implementation in their fiefdoms.

Today it will not be difficult for them to push the necessary decision through pocket parliaments and retain their posts.

There are too many reasons and arguments to think so. And we can confidently say:

— About the growing state investments in both republics with certain circles in power that have formed according to their interests and are engaged in their “effective” development. The change of heads for them will result in the loss of more than one billion dollars;

- About unseemly deeds, for which, at least partially, they will have to answer to the new leadership, if direct elections are held, new elites and new interested circles of the Kremlin court, which will certainly involve them in the redistribution of the loot. Answer only partly because the authorities do not abandon their own. Well, Livshits himself ordered sharing, even at the dawn of perestroika!

— About the fear of the threat of falling from the high peak of power and deprivation of so many benefits and privileges. This fear fetters the minds of the heads of the republics and pushes them to the most desperate actions and decisions because they are afraid of being held accountable to their people for blindly following some crazy, short-sighted decisions of the lobbying circles of the Kremlin court.

But if the actions and efforts of the heads of the republics are predictable and so frank, then the Kremlin political strategists cross the line, using tools such as territorial claims to implement their plans. It is difficult to imagine that in the established regime of interaction between the Kremlin and regional heads, the latter would dare to initiate such issues themselves!

It can be clearly recognized that the authorities do not value individual peoples at all. The main argument for the Kremlin to cancel direct elections will be the need to eliminate instability in the region, which threatens the upcoming Olympic Games in Sochi. And the presidential administration of the Russian Federation does not want to realize that this very instability exists as a result of such a short-sighted approach to resolving interethnic relations and unsuccessful appointments to positions. It stubbornly refuses to see that the instability in Ingushetia is a direct consequence of the careless management of its appointees and the unwillingness to allow direct elections.
