The holidays continue, and to lift my spirits, I went to Alexander Vasiliev’s press conference today. The fashion historian, host of the TV show “Fashionable Sentence” came to Novosibirsk with a lecture and one-man show “Coco Chanel”. So those who wished to do so yesterday and this evening already went to the chamber hall of the Philharmonic. Well, I listened to it at the Pobeda cinema.
And by the way, the hopes for a good mood were fully justified - he is a very positive person, and, as he himself is well aware, is a showman who knows how to hold attention.
Alexander Vasiliev appeared with a book under his arm and a basket of tulips, which he immediately distributed to the ladies present, calling everyone redheads, blondes and other endearing terms.

Of course, I expected to see him in another extravagant suit with a bright neckerchief, a brooch and some other accessory unknown in our shops. But I think Vasiliev saved extravagant outfits for lecture-goers who paid from one to five thousand for admission.
And this morning he was wearing such a warm jacket under his jacket, but there was a bright scarf and rings. As well as very beautiful blue glasses. I really want these. See photos further.

Yes, great glasses. Italian design. I hope the color of the glasses is visible in this photo, and this color, intentionally or not, echoes the handkerchief. Paired with a gray sports jacket - very fashionable.

As usual, at first the dear guest was pleased with the question: “How do you like it in Novosibirsk? How do the locals dress, in your opinion?”
The traditional question was answered with the traditional answer that in absolutely all cities they ask the same thing. But. It is stupid to ask such a question during globalization. People dress the same everywhere. Some in Moscow, some in Vladivostok, some in Novosibirsk.
The Chelyabinsk style no longer exists.
Yes, this phrase about the style of Chelyabinsk pleased me most. :-)
There is no Moscow style now, because who are these rich Moscow people? Rich upstarts, parvenus, entrenched in Moscow, who have neither style nor even Moscow dialect.
On my own behalf, I’ll note that as for the dialect, thank God. :-)
How is fashion born? In other words, where do fashion designers get their ideas?
And here the answer is also simple. Famous couturiers are also people, just ordinary citizens, but they often look around. For example, Gaultier's latest collection, for which he got ideas from India. No, well, would you guess that a sari is new and fashionable? Here it is already a moot point what plays forward, an original idea or a famous name. It’s one thing for a billion Indians to buy this sari, it’s another thing for Europeans to start using this idea.
All fashion today comes from Asia. People there dress brightly and casually. What about Russia? Alexander Vasiliev believes that in order to fall in love with fashion, you need to love the country, its style, people, and the overall impression. But they don’t like Russia. Maybe we don't love ourselves.
Two Russian styles are known in the West: “Doctor Zhivago” is a military style, fur, papakha.
And the Anna Karenina style is the luxury of St. Petersburg, furs, jewelry, lace and all this together.
But we haven’t even heard about this, that is, we don’t even use what we have. Not to mention creating something new.
Alexander presented one of his books. And speaking of lectures. Despite the very high price - an average of 3,000 rubles, the chamber hall is full. And as Vasiliev noted, a ticket for Stas Mikhailov can be bought for 25 thousand rubles.
So for 3,000 rubles you can hear about the style icons of the past.
Vasiliev considers, for example, Ivan Urgant and Maxim Galkin to be the current style icons on our television. Urgant - suit, figure, five-day stubble, in short, he always looks great.
What about you and me? There seem to be a lot of shops. But here everyone will say that you won’t find anything particularly original even in expensive places. And most people don't want to stand out. If there are a few “eccentrics” in the city, then that’s good. And if there are no such fashionable citizens that everyone in the city knows about, then there is no fashion in the city.
This is right about us. The television journalist was unable to answer Vasiliev’s question: which fashionable people of Novosibirsk do you know? The others also remained silent. I could only remember Artem Loskutov’s friend, Maria. I forgot what her last name was. Even I have a couple of photos of her on my blog, she is a beautiful, elegant girl and you can see what she thinks, what and how she appears at various events. And our photographers are like dirt.
Actually, maybe you remember someone? And so everything is sad, at least there should be extraordinary personalities on TV, and not just pretty girls whom you see five times and still forget.

Alexander also spoke about the difficulties of organizing exhibitions in museums. He has a large collection of suits, and not only him. But the exhibition is not suits on hangers. We need to think about how to present it.
I was at his exhibition “Russian Shanghai” in Vladivostok, at the Arsenyev Museum. Great exhibition, I'll post photos tomorrow.
I asked about the program “Fashionable Verdict”. Is there any educational value in this and many other programs? Or is it just a show. After all, no matter how much you show or teach, the woman still goes shopping and buys another piece of junk.
Vasiliev replied that he could not announce the amount, but both the participants and the stylists were given the same amount of money. The problem is that a woman buys everything the same, only new. It's hard to change your mind and look at yourself from the outside. Well, lack of taste is in many cases a problem of a hard life, so let’s not blame women. Actually, I don’t blame anyone, I’m always happy when another clown gets her hair done and put on stilettos. But I am sure that the majority will not continue to walk in these stiletto heels, literally and figuratively.
By the way, how do I get on the show? :-)
The allocation for men in the program is one piece per month. No, women do not sue men in fashion court. Because if a man is good, and even dressed up and combed, he will think a lot about himself, and other women will pay close attention to him. Therefore, out of harm’s way, let him walk as he always did - in a jacket over a sweatshirt and an old down jacket. Bad, but his own. I mean, not a down jacket, but a man.
These are the harsh realities of our country.
But men, on the contrary, often complain about their women. Yes, this is an excuse for men - my wife dresses poorly, she’s not smart, she doesn’t have makeup, she’s completely neglected herself - I’ll go outside.
These are the ominous conclusions from the fashion show. :-)

In general, during the hour of conversation, Alexander Vasiliev made a very joyful impression on everyone and told a lot of interesting things. Then everyone rushed to take pictures with him, I abstained. :-)
