State Duma deputy from A Just Russia Oleg Mikheev confirmed that he was summoned for questioning in a case that was opened against him last week.
“They finally invited me tomorrow. I will go to hand over all the documents confirming my innocence, court decisions, and I will tell you about my position regarding the investigator’s erroneous opinion regarding me,” Mikheev told Interfax on Monday. Mikheev believes that it was necessary to call him in for questioning, get all the explanations, and then initiate a criminal case, attaching his words and documents to it.
The Kommersant newspaper reported on Monday that Mikheev was summoned for questioning. The deputy is suspected of fraud and obstruction of justice. “According to the investigation, O. Mikheev is involved in the unlawful seizure of 14 real estate properties of the Volgograd Engine Plant worth over 500 million rubles, the attempted theft by fraud of 2.1 billion rubles from Promsvyazbank, as well as obstruction of justice,” he said official representative of the Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin.
Mikheev was deprived of parliamentary immunity and agreed to bring him to criminal responsibility.
