How Lukashenko escorted Chavez

In Belarus, in connection with the death of the “close friend” Lukashenko, Hugo Chavez announced a national mourning for three whole days and canceled the celebration on March 8. After last year’s attack in the Minsk metro, when 12 were killed and about two hundred people were injured, mourning lasted only a day.

The death of the Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez became a great grief for the Belarusian President Lukashenko, who was associated with Chavez by a strong mutually beneficial friendship, based not only on active anti -Western policy. They have repeatedly scattered in compliments to each other: Lukashenko stated that Chavez is a great man without flaws, and Hugo even dedicated his last victory in the presidential election. The Chassis stably visited Belarus once a year, starting from 2006, with working visits, and Lukashenko, among other things, went to Venezuela to relax and there was so relaxed that he gave local television interviews right on the beach, flaunting in his underpants sewn in the colors of the Belarusian flag.

The process of cooperation between the two countries cheerfully gained momentum all this time: in Venezuela the branches of Belarusneft, Belgorkhimprom, Belzarubezhstroy were opened, joint enterprises were created, and the assembly of Belarusian trucks and tractors were built, the construction of the plant for the production of building materials, which will be the largest enterprise of this kind in South America. In Belarus, meanwhile, the idol of Chavez Simon Bolivar is in every possible way: a school, a park, a specially organized Venezuelan cultural center are named after him.

But the main reasons for the fraternal love of Chavez and Lukashenko were oil and weapons. The last Belarusian president actively sold in Venezuela, not particularly hung up : then Lukashenko promises to share the experience of the state defense of the state with Chavez, then Chavez himself says that he goes to Belarus to agree on the details of the acquisition of a comprehensive air defense system.

Venezuelan oil Lukashenko once used to pressure the Kremlin in order to reduce Russian oil prices. In 2010, blackmail turned into a scandalous form: the day before Putin’s visit to Belarus Lukashenko suddenly and defiantly flew to Venezuela, where Chavez generously and publicly promised Old Man of 80 thousand barrels of duty -free oil a day. Despite the fact that the transportation of oil from Venezuela to Belarus looked like an absurd and unprofitable, the unpredictability of the “bastards” of the last European dictator influenced the oil question in favor of the Old Man, and he used this trick again in 2012, when negotiations with Russia again entered the acute phase. Soon after, the deputy head of the Belarusian government, Vladimir Semashko, innocently admitted to journalists that, if Venezuelan oil had not been, an agreement on a single oil and oil products market would not have taken place with Russia.

And so, when a friend of Hugo died of a serious illness, it turned out that the distant Belarus mourn the chavey much more than its inhabitants expected.

Then, just a few hours after the news of the death of the Venezuelan president, at a meeting of the Minsk City Executive Committee, it was decided to name the name of Chavez one of the central streets of the Belarusian capital and establish a bust of the deceased on it.

As the pro -government media announced, Venezuela "People carry flowers and candles all day" to the Belarusian embassy of Venezuela. True, a bashful video sequence demonstrated that these people are representatives of the Lukashenkovskiy Party "White Russia" and the Belarusian Youth Union, who, having received a harness, came to the Embassy, ​​without worrying about taking off their clothes with party symbols, and laid exactly the same flowers and candles.

And, to top it all, Lukashenko declared a three -day (!) Mourning in the country with his decree. State flags were visible, all entertainment programs on local television channels, as well as most events dedicated to March 8, were canceled. But Belarusians outraged not even the abolition of women's day, but a simple comparative statistics. Two days were announced when on May 30, 1999, 53 people died in the underground crossing of the Nemiga metro station in Minsk. After an explosion occurred in the Minsk metro on April 11, 2011, from which 15 people died and 195 suffered, the republican mourning lasted one day.

Interestingly, on March 6, official reports appeared that Lukashenko would not fly to the funeral, detaching a delegation from the First Deputy Prime Minister and the Presidential Administration, and the Belorussian president was already felt (or reached some unfortunate agreements with Venezuela) and stated that, given the special nature of the relationship with Chavez, he would personally fly to Karakas to say goodbye to a friend.

No one was surprised that even the Belarusian president used even a mourning time with benefit for himself. After the farewell ceremony, during which Lukashenko sat in the front row, among the closest relatives of Chavez, the Old Man hastened to find new associates and held negotiations with the presidents of different countries of Latin America, smiling broadly in official photographs. At a meeting with the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales Lukashenko agreed on the construction of relations between the Venezuelan model, the head of Ecuador Rafael Correa Delgado decided to visit Belarus in the near future, President Michelle Martai also expressed a desire to cooperate. I met with Lukashenko and Raul Castro, although what they talked about is not reported. The executive vice-president of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro and the chairman of the National Assembly Diosdado Cable assured the father in the fact that the relations begun under Chavez will continue.

In Belarus, it is assumed that such active activity Lukashenko says that he is afraid of strong cooling in the relationship between Belarus and Venezuela, and recall on this occasion how Russia turned to Lukashenko sideways when Yeltsin, who promised to make the father of the president of the allied state, came Putin.
