A lesson in the same -sex love

Now the draft law on the prohibition of propaganda of homosexuality among minors is widely discussed. Of course, the propaganda of homosexuality in schools can only be condemned, as well as religious and political propaganda. However, there are reasonable fears that with the advent of the law, any attempts will be suppressed to tell the children about the same -sex love. Although no one forbids telling at school about communism, Nazism, Christianity or Islam, on the contrary, courses of familiarizing students with the basics of world religions are introduced into the school curriculum.

A scientist, journalist, teacher, graduate of the Department of Zoology of the Vermands Faculty of Moscow State University Ilya Kolmanovsky, explaining why he publicly opposed this law, referred to the fact that the law means the beginning of the persecution of homosexuals, likening it to the persecution of Jews and Communists in Nazi Germany, after which the destruction of any dissent began. It was said that Ilya taught students a lesson in civil courage, for which he could suffer: the parents of some schoolchildren turned to the directorate demanding that the teacher who allegedly sympathizes with the “blue”. I respect the position of Ilya Kolmanovsky and I am entirely on his side, but I believe that the teacher should educate the students of worthy people in the framework of his subjects not to participate in Mitin Gah, at the risk of leaving schoolchildren without a teacher. The introduction of teachers is so that people do not grow from their students, with contempt related to homosexuals, Jews, atheists. No matter what changes are made to the school education system, the teacher will always have the opportunity to speak with the students with dignity.

For several years now I have been telling schoolchildren about the social behavior of animals. The content of the course changes depending on the age and number of students (my course is optional, in different years children from 3 to 11 grade visited it). The course is largely based on my own observations of the behavior of birds and mammals. When a discussion of the law on the prohibition of propaganda of homosexuality began, I realized that the problem of same -sex love did not pay enough space in his course. Now I’m trying to rectify the situation, since same -sex sexual relations are directly related to the evolution of social behavior.

I want to briefly convey my judgments about homosexuality, which I am not ashamed to tell schoolchildren, including in the presence of their parents. I repeat that my course is based primarily on my personal experience and about same-sex love can be told in a completely different way. I am sure that many school teachers read this newspaper, and I only want to give an example of how to talk about homosexuality without engaged in its propaganda (although lawyers, of course, can think in a completely different way).

Homosexuality is inconceivable in heterosexual animals with external fertilization. Its occurrence is inevitably associated with the emergence of the necessary bodily intimacy and sexual attraction. In addition, we observe same -sex sexual relations primarily in animals, devoid of significant differences in coloring, size and behavior between males and females. Small roosters, black grouse and Turukhtans will not take care of other males, they will prefer their modestly painted females. Interference variability is weak in animals, whose males and females similarly care about offspring. These include Kamyshevs - small, modestly painted singing birds, the study of which I devoted more than ten years. In addition to males who formed pairs, there are also birds that do not have permanent sections. Such "wanderers" visit strangers, participating in illegitimate copulations - quite successfully, as the results of the analysis of DNA show. At the end of the season, when many couples are already feeding chicks and tears of the nests, you can observe birds actively trying to find a sexual partner. Perhaps these are young males who have recently arrived at the propagation sites and did not have time to leave offspring. At the garden Kamyshevka, lonely males begin to tremble their wings, as when courting, even if you lose the recording of the singing of another male next to them. By tracking the areas where a couple of reeds rests, bachelors are taken to take care of the owners collecting feed for the chicks. At the same time, since the fathers flying to the brood are kept more openly than their mothers, it is they who become the subject of courtship from inexperienced bachelors. It is noteworthy that the owners of the plots, subjected to sexual persecution, do not drive idle birds from their territories, as they act with competitors at the beginning of the nesting period. They only besiege them when they become excessively persistent, driving away with short attacks. As a result, outsiders do not attract the attention of predators to the nests and broods, and also do not interfere with females collecting food.

I managed to observe a more confusing situation with a short -knitting point - a small bird living in the south of the Far East and just like a kamyshevka related to the Slavkov family. One pair had a family discord. The male could not protect the female from courtship from the neighbor at the time when she was preparing for laying eggs, and the female did not trust her partner, was afraid of him. When the chicks hatched, the female spent almost the whole day in a niche with a nest, did not fly out for food. Only his father fed chicks. His touching concern for the brood did not convince the female. When the tears left the nest, the mother stayed near them, but also did not feed. Noticing the approach of her husband, she flew away either, if the female seemed that the male noticed her, attacked her partner, including at the moment when he passed the feed to the young, so that the chicks scattered in different directions in confusion. An extraneous idle male nailed to this nest. He flew up to the niche, where the female and chicks were sitting, but he did not pay any attention to the female. The idle male began to follow, caring, after the owner of the site. Losing sight of him, he returned to the nest, waited, singing nearby. Soon, the owner of the site, apparently, not wanting an extraneous bird to give out the location of the chicks with singing, began to answer the “boyfriend”, and he flew to him, leaving the nest. Nevertheless, the regular visits of the idle male to the nest led to the fact that he began to feed the young people on a par with their father, although not so actively. After the chicks flew out, the idle male and the female, being nearby, did not pay any attention to each other. They tracked only the movements of the owner of the site, which was completely occupied by the feeding of the brood.

Most small singing birds, including Kamyshevs and short -leaders, are formed for a short period, attachment from year to year is not preserved, and there is no doubt that the idle birds, caring for the males, having lived until next year, could successfully form heterosexual pairs. However, with the development of more persistent and long -term affection, in fact, love, in long -lived family birds, same -sex unions become longer, imposing serious restrictions on the participation of these individuals in reproduction. The possibility of the formation of same -sex marriages of goose -shaped birds is a serious problem for those who are trying to breed them, especially since without special studies, often and a person cannot determine the gender of birds in time before sitting.

Thus, the sexual attraction to the individuals of their gender is closely related to the advent of qualities that have received the greatest development in human society - intimacy between individuals, concerns about offspring, mutual long -term attachment, expressed in friendship and love. Homosexuality can be likened to useless, but inevitable moles on our body, which can be ugly and beautiful, can cause cancer tumors or become fashionable. This is a peculiar payment of mankind for its humanity.

So, this is my version of the story about same -sex love. Each teacher can offer his own. I repeat, it is impossible to engage in the promotion of homosexuality at school, but it is necessary to ensure that the students treat with understanding and respect for this phenomenon and, growing up, are not similar to those parents who wrote outraged sows to Ilya Kolmanovsky.
