Bastrykin submitted a request to the Supreme College of Judges to bring the Krasnodar judge to criminal liability

The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, submitted a submission to the Higher Qualification Board of Judges (HQJC) to give consent to bring to criminal liability the judge of the Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory, Sergei Rusov.

“Bastrykin’s corresponding submission has been submitted to the Higher Qualification Committee,” official representative of the RF Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin told Interfax.

Previously, the Investigative Committee conducted an investigation into the receipt of money by Sergei Rusov, a judge of the Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory. According to the department, in October 2012, Rusov was considering a case on a claim by the Sochi administration to collect a penalty from one of the construction enterprises. The judge invited the management of the construction company to pay him 20 million rubles for a decision in their favor. A company representative reported the conversation with the judge to the investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the region, then met with Rusov twice in his office, transferring to him the required amount in installments. The illegal actions of the judge, according to the Investigative Committee, were suppressed by officers of the FSB Directorate for the Krasnodar Territory, who provided operational support for the investigation.
