Another procession dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Legionnaires took place in Riga.
Representatives of national associations gathered on Dome Square, after which they marched in orderly columns with songs to the Freedom Monument, where they unfurled flags and laid flowers. This year, anti-fascists refused to picket and dress in the uniform of concentration camp prisoners. They installed large speakers, from which the air raid signal sounded for a while and then reports about those killed in the concentration camps were read out. In response, supporters of the legionnaires turned off the power to the speakers and began singing patriotic Latvian songs.
In general, the event passed without incident, apart from isolated verbal skirmishes between elderly people on both sides.
