Put your affairs in order

The coordinator of the movement “Rus sitting” Olga Romanova adds: your whole life should enter this paper . “Choose a person who will receive mail for you, pay for an apartment and on loans in a bank who has the right to withdraw money from your account. You need to be especially careful with banks: when the client is planted, it is beneficial for him to stop paying - in this way it can be ruined. Therefore, having assured the power of attorney at the notary, assure it in the bank , ”Romanova advises.

Collect the "alarming" bag

The camera is a stone bag where it is always cold. Therefore, you need to prepare the essential things . Firstly, go to a sports store or to the market and buy a tracksuit. It should be warm, on the lining. Even if you are “closed” in July - take a sweater, jacket, warm socks and thermal underwear.

“There is special linen for fishing, which retains heat with low physical activity,” advises Catherine, girl Andrei Barabanov, the defendant of the “Swamp business”. All clothing should be without lightning and other metal parts, without laces and rubber bands that can be pulled out. “Grasp something knitted,” says Matvey Krylov, an activist of another Russia, who has been in jail for two months. “This thing can be dissolved and made a rope on which the prisoners exchange cigarettes, tea, notes.” Of the shoes, it is worth buying dark sneakers on Velcro and without Supinators. Do not forget a piece of soap and a toothbrush. Shampoos, shower gels, cosmetics, washing powders will be seized with you. The same with food and tea.

Girls can put a rubber file for nails, tampons and gaskets in a “anxious” bag - all packages should be sealed.

An important point is glasses. They can be selected. Glass and wire frame, according to the employees of the FSIN, are objects that can be used for suicide. Therefore, make plastic glasses in a thick horn frame.

You can take the “alarming” bag to the Investigative Committee for interrogations or take with you if you are arrested at home. If you were taken suddenly somewhere on the street, it will come in handy to your relatives, who at first can be confused and forget to give you something necessary.

Take care of health

All interlocutors of The New Times say one voice: try to meet this test of a healthy person.

“If you have even minor diseases, you know: in prison they will turn into torture,” says lawyer Dmitry Agranovsky. “You won’t get normal medical care there, and your torment will be used by the result in order to achieve confession from you.”

Olga Romanova calls three main weaknesses: teeth, eyes and kidneys . The teeth deteriorate due to a lack of calcium and vitamins, the eyes-due to poor lighting, the kidneys-due to the cold.

In the “swamp case”, Vladimir Akimenkov at the time of arrest suffered from a serious illness, in a pre -trial detention center, his vision began to deteriorate catastrophically. But neither the petitions of lawyers, nor the requests of human rights activists helped him to change the preventive measure.

If you have chronic diseases and you need to regularly take medicines, then at the time of arrest you must have a medical card with all recipes . Without these documents, you will not be able to take medicines with you or get them in the program. Put a medical card and medicine in your “alarming” bag.

“In extreme cases, if a person needs, for example, insulin, FSIN employees are coming towards,” says Agranovsky. “The investigator is not interested in you in his hands.”

Prepare for the court

When you were arrested, you have the right to call a lawyer and relatives . If you were not allowed to do this, then, according to Art. 96 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, the investigator himself is obliged to notify your loved ones within 12 hours from the moment of detention. After the detention, you will be first taken to the district police department. The court that will determine the measure of restraint should take place within 48 hours from the moment of detention. Carefully check the time that the investigator will indicate in the detention protocol : the term of your stay in custody should be counted from the moment when you were “taken”. At the trial, to justify the need for your arrest, the investigator will present his petition to the judge. As an occasion, the presence of a passport is often also used: this was the case at the trial of Alexander Margolin, one of the last detainees in the “swamp business”. The basis for his arrest was also that Margolin has foreign friends on social networks - this is a new argument that has not previously been given by investigators.

The hope that the court will let you go is minimal. But you still need to prepare. “In advance, take a positive characteristic at work or at the place of study, with your neighbors. Gather documents about marital status, birth certificates. Find people who will be ready to vouch for you. Bring yourself as a pledge, ”Lists the lawyer Agracean. - All this will come in handy to appeal the arrest and to file a case in the European Court of Human Rights. Thus you work for the future. ”

IVS: Puff out

After the trial, you will be sent to a temporary detention center. By law, you should not be there for more than ten days. While you are contained in the IVS, the investigator under various pretexts may not let a lawyer to you. He needs this time to “split” you. If they call for a conversation, refuse to answer questions, referring to Art. 51 of the Constitution and Art. 47 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and most importantly - demand the call of your lawyer.

Friends and relatives can convey to you in the IVS only the most necessary: ​​food, linen and hygiene products, as well as newspapers and books - the list can be agreed with the personnel of the insulator.

With IVS there is a medical officer. Recommendation for women: if you urgently needed gaskets, and you have not received the transfer yet, then you can contact this employee or cellmates - in extreme cases you will be given cotton wool.

If you don't like something, you better tolerate. All the same, soon you will be transferred to the pre -trial detention center. “IVS is temporarily, and a pre -trial detention center is already your new home,” says Agravsky’s lawyer.

SIZO: Take care of everyday life

In a pre -trial detention center, you will spend the first couple of days in quarantine, then you will be transferred to a regular camera. Just start to equip, make a list of what you need - you can hand it over to a lawyer, and he will give it to relatives.

Do not count on dates with relatives at first. “The investigator believes that this is a measure of encouragement: if a person confesses, then he is given a date without problems. If the relationship is stretched and the investigator is harmful, then do not wait for dates, ”says lawyer Dmitry Dinze.

When the prisoner is recorded in jail, he is being made a personal account, on which relatives can put money. They must do this as soon as possible so that you can use the store and order food (usually the insulators have agreements with the canteens and a cafe where you can buy ready -made dishes from your choice, from pizza to barbecue). Try not to eat free food, which is fed in insulators : as a rule, it is prepared on a combi, which causes heartburn.

Relatives can give you a boiler and an electric kettle, warm things. Medicines are transmitted once a week, they are taken by the head of the medical unit. It can only be tablets, no powders and spikes.

Relatives can order books for you only through the Russian Post, prison libraries are very scarce. Through the mail, a subscription to newspapers and magazines is issued. Do not trust anyone

The first appearance in the cell is a very important point. When acquainting with cellmates, you should introduce yourself, name the article number. If you find yourself in a small chamber, then choose any sinca - all of the parashi are in one way or another. Be sure more, avoid conversations for life - there may be “hencakes” in the cell (people who collaborate with the prison administration).

“You will have to sit with such criminals that you have not seen in your life yet,” says Olga Romanova. - Remember - this is now your circle of communication. And it’s better not to complain, otherwise upset these people. ”

Those things that you do not really need, give to the "common fund" - this will also contribute to a good relationship.

No matter what conditions you find yourself, remain yourself

Women: Do not launch yourself

In Moscow, there is only one purely female pre -trial detention center - No. 6, in printer. In the early days, it is easy to fall into despondency and even panic: you will have to forget about all the usual rituals. In large cameras for 30–40 people have your own shower - you can wash every day. But in small ones, as a rule, there is no soul, there are only washbasins - their inhabitants are taken to showers only once a week. So - how lucky. Shampoos, a minimum set of cosmetics, plastic basins and powders can convey relatives. The parcel will be held, but without fanaticism: for example, the packaging of gaskets usually cut, but the gaskets themselves do not touch.

In this pre -trial detention center, you will have to forget about the feeling of shame and disgust : in the shower and toilet rooms there are eyes, and toilet cabins are fenced off with low barriers. “No matter what conditions you find yourself, stay a woman, take care of yourself,” Bazhibina summarizes.

Complain

Remember: the investigator has no legal grounds to prevent you from meeting a lawyer in a pre -trial detention center . He can come to you at least every day, and the duration of your conversations is not limited. If your rights are violated, if you are dissatisfied with the conditions of detention, if you have physical and moral pressure, contact the members of the public observation commission ( www.onk.su ). In prison, someone will definitely find a mobile phone, although this is a prohibited thing. Ask your neighbors in the cell, they will help you. And call relatives or friends, let them go to the PMC members.

“Members of the PMC can freely enter all the IVS and pre -trial detention center,” says human rights activist Anna Karenikova. - Such a visit will have several advantages. Firstly, the psychological aspect: you will know that you are not the only one, that you will no longer beat and torture you. Secondly, your problems will become known-we will talk about the conditions of your maintenance. And the last - if you are not satisfied with the conditions, we can complain to the Federal Penitentiary Service. Try to get used to it

The first few days in prison are the most difficult. Remember that you were then placed here - so that you feel bad, uncomfortable, scary . From despair, a person can confess anything. Therefore, hold on and do not lose heart. “Consolate yourself that it will no longer be worse - you are in hell,” says Olga Romanova. - Soon, everything will become simpler and more understandable.
