The Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Samara Region is conducting an investigation into the death of a 12-year-old schoolgirl who was found with traces of asphyxia in her apartment in Togliatti, the department's press secretary Elena Shkaeva told the Interfax agency.
“The body of a girl with signs of suffocation was found in the apartment where she lived with her parents last Sunday,” said Elena Shkaeva.
She added that her parents were not at home at the time of the child's death.
