Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Sergei Neverov believes that deputy Andrei Isaev correctly criticized the article in Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“We consider this article offensive, boorish, and, accordingly, the reaction to this article corresponds to the position that Isaev has, although he expressed himself a little more emotionally,” Neverov told Interfax on Monday.
Isaev wrote in the microblog on Twitter on March 15: “In a yellow newspaper there is a vile, vile, dirty attack on 3 female deputies. The scoundrels who did this should know: we will definitely not forget, we will not forgive!” It turned out that Isaev was angry at Georgy Jans’s column “Political prostitution has changed gender,” in which the author analyzes the political biography and latest legislative initiatives of three female deputies from the United Russia party - Irina Yarovaya, Ekaterina Lakhova and Olga Batalina.

“In our opinion, this is persecution based on political views,” Neverov said. According to him, experts are now studying this material. “We are evaluating this material, and if we are convinced that it actually contains relevant elements that are offensive, we will call on this publication to make a public apology,” Neverov warned.
“By and large, I believe that this article is persecution for political reasons, and it did not appear by chance - precisely at the moment when the Duma is discussing bills related to the declaration of income, with the need to amend the law on advertising in part of the ban on advertising of hidden intimate services, which is MK’s sin,” Neverov added.
Chairman of the Public Chamber Commission on Freedom of Speech and Media, head of the Moscow Union of Journalists Pavel Gusev appealed to Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika and head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin to initiate a criminal case against Isaev. Gusev asked “to recognize the editor of the mk.ru website A. Muzhdabaev and G. Yans as victims and provide them with state protection in connection with the public threat to their life and health.”
The Deputy Speaker of the State Duma added that United Russia is not afraid of appeals to the Prosecutor General's Office and the Investigative Committee of the MK editor-in-chief Pavel Gusev.
