Employees and visitors of the district court in the Nizhny Novgorod region had to evacuate on Monday due to information received about an explosion threat.
“The Sergachsky District Court received a letter from a prisoner in one of the pre-trial detention centers in the Nizhny Novgorod region about an impending terrorist act aimed at eliminating the judge,” reports the press service of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The chairman of the court reported this to the bailiff and the police duty station.
Bailiffs carried out a prompt evacuation of employees and visitors of the court; during an inspection of the adjacent territory and premises of the court building, no suspicious objects were found, the report notes.
The court continued its work as usual.
The Sergachsky Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia clarified to the Interfax agency that the sender of the letter was born in 1988. was convicted by the Pilninsky District Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in 2009 under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm”).
