False alarm

50 members of the United Russia branch in the Abansky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, who announced their intention to leave the party, have changed their minds. It turns out that with such a demarche they only wanted to “draw attention to the state of affairs in the territory.” The head of the regional department, Valery Semenov, who came to the district to understand the situation, said that there had been a “personal conflict” that had been going on for two years between the deputies of the local council and the head of the district, Mikhail Krivitsky. “First, the deputies tried to achieve a result in the district council, then through collecting signatures among the population. Now they have tried to attract attention with their scandalous statement.”
