200 years ago, March 21, 1813, a historian and public figure Timofey Nikolaevich Granovsky, professor of general history of Moscow University, one of the leaders of Russian liberal Westernism was born. Granovsky claimed that "we cannot look at the past other than from the point of view of the present."
