The Communist Party of the Russian Federation asked the Prosecutor General's Office to find out why Deputy Valuev is appearing in advertising

State Duma deputy from the Communist Party faction Vadim Solovyov asked the Prosecutor General's Office, the Accounts Chamber and the Federal Tax Service to check whether deputies can appear in advertising, the Izvestia newspaper reported on Friday, March 22.

Nowadays you can see MTS advertisements everywhere, in which the athlete Nikolai Valuev appears. After being elected to the State Duma of the sixth convocation, the former boxer formalized his cooperation with MTS as a creative activity. Previously, it was understood that Valuev received a salary for filming.

A new advertising campaign with Valuev’s participation launched on February 7, 2013, although filming took place in December 2012.

State Duma deputies are prohibited by law from engaging in business and at the same time holding a seat in Parliament. Advertising can be interpreted not only as a creative, but also as a commercial activity.
