In Moscow, an exhibition is held in support of "Prisoners of Bolotnaya"

In Moscow, a photo exhibition under the unusual name was opened - “You dare to go out to the square?”* It is dedicated to one day - on May 6, 2012, when the procession in Yakimanka and the rally in Bolotnaya Square ended with clashes with the police. On the same day, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on “mass riots” - at the moment, 24 people are held in the “swamp case”, of which 14 are in jail (see page 38 - a story about one of the defendants in this case, Alexander Dukhanina).

The exhibition contains many photographs taken by eyewitnesses of events on May 6. The exposition, prepared by the Round table of December 12, RPR Parnas and the Committee on May 6, takes place as part of a public investigation of events in Bolotnaya Square. At the opening of the exhibition, which, in fact, the civil action, came from public figures, human rights activists, lawyers, journalists. Directors Andrei Smirnov and Harry Bardin, poet Lev Rubinstein, writer Vladimir Voinovich, actress Liya Akhedzhakov ... In Akhejakova’s speech, it was about the need to support the “Prisoners of Bolotnaya” and about solidarity. Surrounded by photographs, testifying to the cruelty and inadequacy of the authorities on May 6, these words sounded even more convincing.
