Mother of first -graders against Orthodoxy at school
In the last academic year, the "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" were studied here from the first grade, although the program has been developed for 4-5. Today, a trial begins in the Chelyabinsk region. Parents of students of secondary school No. 15 of Miass filed a civil lawsuit, demanding that the training plan make the right to choose: whether to study their children with Orthodox culture, the history of all religions or prefer secular ethics. By the middle of the day, a whole delegation of investigators from Chelyabinsk came to the school, including FSB officers who immediately began surveys of parents and teachers, finding out what was happening in the educational institution. The reason for the commotion is an elective “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture”, which all students of grades 2-8 are forced to visit, regardless of religion and nationality.
The school stands on the mountain, in the village of Melentyevka. And this is not a village somewhere in the wilderness, but simply a private sector on the outskirts of the city of Miass. The building is designed for 450 people, but not filled with a third, although there are a lot of children in the village - many schoolchildren are now studying in other places further from the house, but more arranging parents.
Zhanna Kungurtseva and Olga Matveeva are the mother of first -graders. Their open confrontation with the school director Elena Cheshuina lasts a year. The rest of the dissatisfied parents who do not have the opportunity to take children to other schools support Olga and Jeanne, trying not to attract attention. The local administration has already sent half the first-graders, many of whom left the kindergarten with excellent indicators, to the medical and psychological commission as needing correction. Another family who asked unnecessary questions was threatened to appropriate the status of dysfunctional and register, in the list of dysfunctional families in school. Others were advised to be silent if they did not want the child to graduate from school even without a certificate. Zhanna and Olga know all this, but are not afraid of anything, although both are no longer allowed further than the school lobby when they bring daughters to lessons. It is worth taking a step towards class rooms, cleaners and watchmen are immediately pounced on them.
It still began a few months before the girls went to first grade - when their class teacher Flyura Umurzakova met with the mothers of future students. She spoke in general terms about the school, focusing on the fact that the director is an extremely believing woman and pays great attention to the spiritual education of children. Soon Olga Matveeva was convinced of this herself, finding herself at the school concert, which was held by director Elena Ceshuin. The children performed about 10 works, and the repertoire of the choir brought Olga into a real shock: all these were religious chants, sad and permissible the idea of humility. And they did not fit the schoolchildren at all. The director completed the concert rather inappropriate and unethical, according to Olga, the phrase: "Ask God a question that your mother failed to answer you: why is the world so cruel?"
After the concert, Olga found the future teacher of her daughter, Flyura Umurzakov: “Tell me, do the children in your school have the right to joy? The song” was a grasshopper “do they know? Why are there only images of temples, and icons hang in the lobby?” The teacher shrugged: "I warned you. Complain, but in Miass it is useless ..."
Further - more. On September 1, schoolchildren on the line were not met by the traditional ringing of the bell, but the sounds of a real mobile bell tower. “To make it better,” the director explained. After some time, Jeanne Kungurtseva, helping to prepare a school holiday, saw how children kiss the hand of one of the priests who often look at them. Moreover, the priest was not in the cassock, but in ordinary everyday clothes - a jacket and jeans. High school students explained to Jeanne that there was nothing unusual in this scene: many students do this, as well as teachers and the director herself. Later, Elena Czechin at one of the parent meetings, where religious excesses were ardently discussed, so commented on the situation: “I take an example from our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin .... This is the etiquette of a business Orthodox person, in a different way to greet indecently ... I am inclined and as if to allevia. Maybe they will give a penny to school.”
By the way, the director mentions the name of the head of state quite often. The local television company “Miass TV” began to make a report about school, did not take the air, but she gave the captured personnel to Jeanne and Olga. When the director begins to talk about the course of "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" in the 4-5th grades, she explains: this is an official, "presidential" program. Showing the textbook on the same discipline, one of the sections of which is called "Prayer", Elena Anatolyevna explains to the surprised interlocutor: such is the "Politics of our president."

Meanwhile, the textbook that is used at school was not recommended by the Russian Ministry of Education. In 2009, before starting an experiment on the introduction of the Basics of World Religious Cultures and Secular Ethics, representatives of faiths took up the compilation of benefits for the relevant modules of this course, in the training program. According to the deputy director of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the doctor of philosophical sciences, the head of the Islamic world philosophy sector Andrei Smirnov, the scientists were completely removed from the preparation of four of the six modules-those that appear the name of one of the four religions. The textbook on the "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" was adopted by the editorial board compiled by Patriarch Kirill. Of the two options, the one written by Andrey Kuraev was chosen. It was transferred to the Ministry of Education. However, school No. 15 uses the manual of Lyudmila Shevchenko.
In the last academic year, the "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" were studied here from the first grade, although the program has been developed for 4-5. Then the director made concessions, and now the course begins from the second grade - and continues until the eighth. Theoretically, the school is obliged to provide the teaching of all options for the subject, regardless of how much a person has chosen this or that module (“Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture”, “Fundamentals of Islamic Culture”, “Fundamentals of Buddhist Culture”, “Fundamentals of Jewish Culture”, “Fundamentals of World Religious Cultures”, “Fundamentals of Secular Ethics”). If for objective reasons this cannot be done, no one has the right to force students who have chosen another subject to attend classes on Orthodoxy. But at school No. 15 they do just that.
The elective in the schedule was put between other lessons - so that no one would evade. They give grades - although these are not compulsory activities. Zhanna and Olga told how the teacher teaching the defense industry, she reacted to the newly in the classroom of a Muslim student who did not want to listen to Orthodox music: "Look, guys, your new classmate has a black soul." But still the same Flyura Umurzakova talked about how some time ago one boy from middle classes on the spot struck his parents in the phrase that it was better to live in the sky than on earth. The aroused mother, obviously, heard about the statistics of teenage suicides, immediately ran to the director, but after a long conversation with her she went out and said: "Let her go."

When children begin to make noise in the lessons, teachers call the bell and begin to "expel demons." On the main page of the site of school No. 15 it is said that in its place there was to be a church. And the school itself is called there only a temple. And once the director conducted a survey among students - which of them is not baptized? Having identified those, she turned to her parents with a proposal to hold the appropriate church rite for free. And many agreed. School is being held prayers. Pupils, divided into three age groups, are taken to different temples for conversations with rectors.
Parents want to understand what is the reason for such a policy of the director? Jeanne suggests that school is gradually being prepared for re -profiling and transferring under the wing of the church. Olga Matveeva in Gorono was informally informed that the director is beneficial when parents take the children - they say, while such a situation remains, the school will receive good subsidies. However, all this is from the field of hypotheses. Parents want the court to figure it out. Moreover, the head of the city education department, Irina Neraraeva gives evasive comments: the whole thing is in the personal conflict of the director and several parents.
A similar story has already happened in the Chelyabinsk region. In the village of Golden Sopka on the outskirts of the city of Troitsk at school No. 45 in 2011, exactly the same conflict broke out around the course "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture". He was taught by a certain mother Raisa. Moreover, it was done like this: 5-6 students were taken from any lesson each and led to a conversation with an Orthodox mentor. When part of the parents was outraged, the school administration and the leadership of the city education department began to openly crush them. Social workers came into one of the houses under the pretext that a girl who grows in a full family rarely sees her father working as a rotational basis. Maybe you should take it to the shelter? Then an article appeared in one of the local newspapers in which parents trying to resist the school were called slanderers. The prosecutor’s office, however, found a number of violations in the work of the educational institution. Nadezhda Volkovskaya spoke about this story, whose granddaughter attended the 45th school. As a result, the girl had to pick up. Now she is studying in another place - to carry further, but there are no problems with the administration and religious education.
Neither representatives of the school nor employees of the Education Department appeared in Miassa today with the judge in Miass. The first meeting in the case was scheduled for April 16.
