The documents say that in 2007, Malkin asked him to give him a residence permit in Canada, but the Canadian authorities refused, suspecting him of criminal activity, including money laundering. Navalny studied Malkin’s statement to receive a residence permit and found out that the Buryat Senator has Israeli citizenship and the second name - Avihur Ben Bar. Later, the media and bloggers found that Malkin owns property on Corsic and in New York and two firms in Luxembourg.

Malkin’s undeclared property was previously interested in journalist and blogger Andrei Malgin, who wrote in early February 2013 that Malkin bought an apartment for $ 15.6 million in New York.
