In the center of Kyiv, dumpling “Katyusha” can be found at every step, including on Khreshchatyk. Now the network has reached Moscow, but under a different name - in the same spirit of nostalgia for the Soviet Union. And here, as in Kyiv, to the tune of “A Girl Cries in a Machine” by Osin, waitresses in school uniforms deftly serve dumplings and dumplings in a pot with onions and cracklings. Two huge halls are decorated with attributes of Soviet life - carpets, wooden Sport skis and old skates with thick blades. On the walls there are paintings by Shishkin and posters with inscriptions like “Who goes where, and I’m going to the savings bank.” According to the head of Pobeda, Andrei Kanishevsky, almost all the items were bought at the Izmailovsky market, and some were brought by visitors in exchange for a discount.

“Jellied meat, potato pancakes, herring under a fur coat, salted cabbage, sprats, sandwiches with caviar, sausage cake - the older generation remembers the Soviet Union with nostalgia, but for young people it’s such banter, kitsch, they are interested in trying what their parents ate in their youth. We want to feed everyone: from grandmothers to students. By the way, foreigners also come to us, although, frankly, we did not expect to make a place for them. Well, our main strong point, naturally, remains dumplings, which we make by hand under the guidance of our chef Denis Batyuk,” says Kanishevsky.

There is no business lunch, but the prices are not too high: dumplings with cabbage and mushrooms cost 200 rubles, and a set of five types of meat in a pot costs 350 rubles. There are meat, sweet and vegetable dumpling sets (within 350 rubles). From the “exotic” side there is mincemeat (150 rubles), liver cake (160 rubles) and the so-called lard plate - 5 types of lard, including a marinated flank of pig (350 rubles). From the 21st century, fresh juices (160 rubles) and the main types of ground coffee (50–200 rubles) migrated to the Soviet dumpling shop. Tea is poured directly from the samovar. Until noon, breakfasts are available with porridge (120 rubles), omelet (140 rubles), casserole (230 rubles) and cheesecakes (230 rubles).

Pobeda was immediately conceived as a network project, and the opening of the second dumpling shop in Moscow is scheduled for May-June. By the end of the year, it is planned to open about 10 dumplings.

Cons:

Not a very convenient teapot: when you pour, some spills past the cup. Although it may depend on dexterity.

I would like a faster pace of cooking meat dishes.

The music seemed a little louder than needed. Sometimes it’s not very comfortable to communicate with friends.
