Andrey Vorobyov will take part in the elections for governor of the Moscow region in September

Acting governor of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov decided to run for the post of head of the region in the elections on September 8 - the first in 10 years.

“I didn’t come to the region to shine here for 9 months and then hide in an unknown direction,” said the acting head of the Moscow region in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta .

Vorobyov refused to comment on rumors about his possible transfer to work at the Ministry of Regional Development.

“I don’t comment on rumors. And I don’t look back at September 8, hear me. My team and I work and believe in what we do. Sometimes they tell me: look, after the elections you can do more. Fire this one, change that one. (. ..) I’ll be honest: I don’t divide my life into before and after the elections. I came to work,” Vorobiev said.

The head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, Andrei Vorobyov, was appointed acting governor of the Moscow region in November last year, after the previous head of the Moscow region, Sergei Shoigu, was replaced by Anatoly Serdyukov as defense minister .
