Putin appointed the ONF Congress for Russia Day

At the promotional congress of the “All-Russian Popular Front” was appointed on June 11-12. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin at the ONF conference in Rostov-on-Don, RIA Novosti reports.

The "Popular Front" after the congress will be registered as a public movement. Putin suggested making such meetings regularly.

According to Putin, the ONF must fulfill its “big mission” to create a platform where people of different views and approaches could come to an agreement on key issues of the country's development.

It should be noted that on June 12 a state holiday is celebrated in the country, the Day of Russia, which was established in 1992.

The People’s Front appeared in May 2011 on the initiative of Vladimir Putin. In April 2012, Putin prevented the ONF. The president also said that he was ready to head the coordination council of this association. The ONF Congress was transferred several times. At first it was assumed that it would be held at the end of 2012, then it was moved to May 2013.
