Poll: 60% of Russians plan to celebrate April 1

Among Russians, students and schoolchildren most often like to joke on April Fool's Day, April 1, a Levada Center survey showed.

71% of students are going to play a prank on their friends and relatives on April 1, and 70% of housewives, workers, executives and managers are also not averse to making jokes on April Fool’s Day.

5% of respondents are not against laughing at the president, 22% are afraid, 11% of Russians are ready to play a prank on their bosses, 29% will not take risks. On April 1, 64% of men are ready to make a joke, while 35% of women are not going to have fun.

Interestingly, the number of jokers has remained the same since 1998 and remains at 60%.

The survey was conducted on March 22-25, 2013, and involved 1,601 people in 130 settlements in 45 regions of Russia.
