Moscow will sell Luzhkovsky airships

Moscow will sell six airships that were bought by a city under Yuri Luzhkov for 120 million rubles to “develop tourist flights over Moscow,” Izvestia reports.

According to the first deputy general director of the Directorate of the Moscow Transport Node Viktor Eremin, "these airships lay for no one, and now they are sold." In particular, the metropolitan deputies propose to sell the Luzhkovsky Heritage by the Moscow Region, where the sky, unlike the capital, is not closed for flights.

Yuri Luzhkov had big plans for the use of “air ships” - he proposed to use airships to regulate traffic on the Moscow Ring Road, the fight against traffic jams, the transportation of passengers and even the salvation of drowning (“if the place of accident is detected, the specialist can jump into the water and help the drowning”).

Only one of these projects was partially implemented-the special forces of the Moscow Main Department of Internal Affairs was at the disposal of two Au-12 airships-34-meter devices with a maximum speed of up to 100 km/h, and two AU-17 balloons. They flew a little over the ring road, but soon moved to the hangars of KB Myasishchev to Zhukovsky near Moscow.

Two more airships of the last generation AU-30 (length-55 m, maximum speed-110 km/h) were purchased by Aeroskan, a subsidiary of RAO UES of Russia, to scan power lines. These devices, together with the “police” AU-12 and AU-17 appear in the decree of the Moscow Government “On the transfer of aviation equipment to the balance of the Moscow Aviation Service of the Moscow State Institute of Aviation Services of June 24, 2008. Their total value is estimated at 120 million rubles. All the airships were produced by the Augur air center.

According to the source in the city hall, Chinese manufacturers of aircraft who do not have their own dirizhus production technologies may become possible customers.

This is not the first of the projects of Yuri Luzhkov , which the current metropolitan authorities refuse. In October 2010, the city hall rejected the Luzhkov idea of ​​dispersing snow clouds on the way to the capital in order to "besiege snow outside Moscow."
