Aeroflot may sue Leonid Yakubovich, who in mid-March, after a 5-hour flight delay, made an emotional speech at Sheremetyevo Airport.
The airline was outraged by the TV presenter's offensive remarks towards its employees. Yakubovich’s behavior was unacceptable, Aeroflot PR Director Andrei Sogrin told Echo of Moscow .
“We are considering legal action,” the airline said on Twitter.
On March 15, at Sheremetyevo airport, after the flight to Vietnam was delayed several times, one of the passengers - he turned out to be Leonid Yakubovich - made a speech on this subject. The TV presenter demanded that a report be drawn up on the reasons for the delay of the plane and the lack of food for passengers, and also condemned in harsh terms the behavior of Aeroflot employees. Yakubovich's speech was recorded on camera and went viral on April 1.
On April 2, Aeroflot commented on its Twitter: “About the situation with the passenger of flight SU 292 on March 15, Leonid Yakubovich: we consider Mr. Yakubovich’s behavior boorish.”
“On March 15, an extremely heavy snowfall hit Moscow. It is strange that a person who is a professional pilot does not know that aircraft flights are limited during snowfall,” the airline said in a statement . “Passengers were regularly notified of flight delays, information was updated on the terminal display. All passengers were offered drink vouchers,” Aeroflot said. “Despite the fact that Yakubovich insulted an Aeroflot employee and threatened physical harm to other airline employees in front of everyone, Aeroflot does not yet plan to sue Mr. Yakubovich,” the message concluded.
The carrier called the excitement on the Internet and the media about the video with the presenter’s speech “custom-made.”
