GLONASS-M satellite will be brought to orbit April 26

The Ministry of Defense plans to bring to orbit the next Glonass satellite on April 26, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the representative of the department for the Aerospace Defense troops, Colonel Alexei Zolotukhin, on March 4, at the Plesetsk cosmodrome, the preparation of the Soyuz-2.1B launch vehicle began, which should bring the satellite to orbit.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the orbital grouping of the Russian GLONASS includes 29 spacecraft, of which 23 GLONASS -M satellites are used for their intended purpose and 2 satellites are temporarily displayed for maintenance. Another 3 Glonass -M satellites make up the orbital reserve of the system. In addition, the flight tests of the new generation of GLONASS -K passes through flight tests.
