Moscow became the world leader in traffic jams

Analysts of the Dutch company TomTom , which manufactured navigation systems and compilation of cards, called Moscow a city with the longest and problematic traffic jams.

The ranking participated in 161 city on five continents. Moscow in the ranking took first place - compared to 2011, the time of travel outside the clock increased by 66%, in second place - Istanbul with an indicator of 55%, in the third - Warsaw with 42%. Next - Marcel, Palermo and Los Angeles.

The TOMTOM study was carried out on the basis of data received from the company's customers. The system for several months tracked the movements of drivers in cities, analyzed the most loaded roads, after which the data was compared. As a result, analysts managed to calculate the time that local residents spend in traffic jams.

The most difficult thing on the roads in Moscow in the morning rush hour, the speed of movement at these hours fell by 106 percent, and in the evening rush hour - by 138 percent compared to the year before last. According to the report, on average, Moscow drivers are on the road to work 127 hours a year, Autonews reports.

The most loaded city in 2011, according to TomTom studies, was Warsaw. In 2010, the worst road situation was in Brussels.
