Lebanon received a pro -Western prime minister

President Lebanon Michelle Suleiman instructed Tamam Salyam to form a new government of the republic. The candidacy of the 68-year-old Sunni politician was supported during consultations with parliamentary factions of 124 of 128 deputies.

Salyam, a member of the pro -Western bloc, who previously led the Ministry of Culture, replaces the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Najib Mikati, who retired in March, recalls the Russian Air Force Service .

Speaking at a press conference, Salyam promised to protect his country from the consequences of the conflict in neighboring Syria.
