Photo: ReutersThe IV Congress of the Solidarity opposition movement opened on April 7 in Moscow, Interfax reports. One of the main issues of the congress will be elections to the governing bodies of the organization. At the same time, it is already known that one of the previous leaders, world chess champion Garry Kasparov, will definitely not be included in the political council, Alexander Ryklin, a member of the Solidarity political council, told Interfax.
“This is the decision of Garry Kimovich himself. Yesterday he called me, Boris Nemtsov, and said that he does not plan to be one of the leaders of Solidarity. But I will immediately note that Kasparov is not going to leave the organization itself,” Ryklin said. At the same time, he found it difficult to answer the question of what caused Kasparov’s decision.
